When life appears to be a mystery,
And people struggle to affirm their place in history,
Sometimes it seems like no one has a clue.
They look to God for answers but aren’t sure what’s true.
Mysteries lie hidden in parables, but who is curious enough to search for them?
When faith trains derail and strong emotions flood,
They might realize that it isn’t flesh and blood.
Perhaps whatever troubles hide in the mist
Can be traced to devils they have yet to resist.
Abraham had visions he saw as from afar, while Joseph had dreams of sun, moon, and star.
They saw in part, like a puzzle, but God gave the interpretation.
Yet it required faithfulness to receive the revelation.
To people with blind eyes and covered ears,
With hearts too hard to listen to their seers,
Jesus delivered parables with scenes
Too elusive to be grasped by human means.
Because only the hungriest of souls dared venture near
So that He might explain the mystery and make it clear.
Like the blind man who kept crying out to Him, “I want to see!”
The ones He answered were the ones who sought Him fervently
(Along with His disciples who followed him very closely
and recorded all these wonderful teachings for you and me)
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter. – Proverbs 25:2
And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart. – Jeremiah 29:13
The question then becomes, “How truly desperate are you?”
Are you one of His disciples? Has He made your life brand new?
Do you consider yourself His servant or have you become His friend?
Do you desire to follow Him unto the very end?
For though nobody hears Him perfectly, God’s promise remains sure,
That you will surely see Him if you have a heart that’s pure.
Such purity God made possible through Jesus’ sacrifice,
For your sin debt kept you bound, but through His wounds He paid the price.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. – Luke 11:9
Because Jesus made it possible!
For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctify to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? – Hebrews 9:14
